Balmorhea State Park gives RV travelers a developed West Texas campsite beside one of the state's most unusual water attractions. TPWD lists 15 pull-through electric campsites with water and 20/30/50-amp service. The park also has back-in electric sites, though several in that category are tent-only and the RV-capable back-ins do not support 50-amp conversion. Travelers should reserve the correct site type rather than treating every numbered campsite as equivalent.
San Solomon Springs feeds the park's 1.3-acre swimming pool, where TPWD says water remains about 72 to 76 degrees year-round. The pool is open through the year aside from scheduled annual cleaning and can reach capacity during busy periods. The spring system also supports restored desert wetlands, birding and wildlife habitat, giving an overnight stay more context than a simple swim stop.
The park is at 9207 TX-17 in Toyahvale, four miles southwest of Balmorhea. TPWD does not allow early overnight entry before the reservation's 2 p.m. check-in time and strongly recommends reservations, particularly from Memorial Day through Labor Day and on holidays. Verify pool notices, campsite electrical needs, current alerts and arrival timing before crossing long West Texas distances.
