How to plan it

Plan Houston by venue and side of town

A Houston-area label can hide an hour or more of driving. Choose lodging and other stops around the actual venue rather than around a generic central point on the metro map.

  1. 01Use the event guide's venue, city and county before choosing a hotel or assuming downtown is the best base.
  2. 02For NRG Park, downtown, fairgrounds and suburban events, use the organizer or venue's current parking and transit guidance instead of a metro-wide rule of thumb.
  3. 03Connect the event to nearby food, museums, attractions and county pages so the trip stays geographically compact.

Source policy

Verified occurrence first, evergreen planning second

Texas Defined uses permanent event-guide URLs, but it does not assume that an annual tradition repeats on the same dates every year. Organizer or host sources control the occurrence shown on each guide. When a future date is derived from an explicit recurrence rule rather than a dedicated annual schedule, the guide says so.

The event page is the stable planning layer: why the event matters, how to approach the destination, related county or culture resources, and the official sources used for verification. Operational details such as gates, tickets, road closures, weather procedures and daily programs should always be rechecked with the organizer before travel.
