DFW event calendar

Dallas-Fort Worth Events & Festivals

DFW has enough major recurring events to deserve a metro-specific discovery layer, but Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Grapevine, McKinney, Denton and Waxahachie are not interchangeable locations. This page keeps the metro grouping useful while preserving city and county context on every guide. Current verified window: Sep 8, 2026–Mar 11, 2028.

How to plan it

Use the host city, not just the DFW label

Metro-wide discovery is useful for comparison; trip planning should narrow immediately to the event's actual city, venue and transportation pattern.

  1. 01Choose the event first, then use its Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, Ellis or Rockwall County context to keep the itinerary compact.
  2. 02Check municipal street closures for downtown festivals and venue-specific parking or rail options for fairgrounds, stadiums and arenas.
  3. 03Use nearby museums, food, attractions and city guides as the second layer instead of crossing the entire metro between unrelated stops.

Source policy

Verified occurrence first, evergreen planning second

Texas Defined uses permanent event-guide URLs, but it does not assume that an annual tradition repeats on the same dates every year. Organizer or host sources control the occurrence shown on each guide. When a future date is derived from an explicit recurrence rule rather than a dedicated annual schedule, the guide says so.

The event page is the stable planning layer: why the event matters, how to approach the destination, related county or culture resources, and the official sources used for verification. Operational details such as gates, tickets, road closures, weather procedures and daily programs should always be rechecked with the organizer before travel.
